Job Seeker FAQs

Below are some common questions about our application and hiring process.

I would like to apply for a job at Dean. What do I do?

All jobs are listed on Wait…finish reading this description before you click!  Once you visit the “Jobs” page, you’ll be presented with a list of currently available positions at various Dean locations.  Scroll down to find the job that sounds like what you want to do at Dean, then click on the job title. The site will open a new window with a description of the job. If you think you are a good fit for that job, click “Apply Now” at the bottom of the page, and follow the prompts from there.

I completed my application, now what?

We’ll send an e-mail to the e-mail address that you entered on your application. This e-mail will contain a URL (example: that leads to an assessment for the selected position. Unfortunately, the email you receive does not contain an active link for this URL. Therefore, you'll need to copy the entire URL and paste it into your browser. If you need additional assistance on how to complete this step, please visit this page for additional instructions.

I completed my assessment, now what?

You’ve completed all of the requirements to apply at Dean! Congrats! A supervisor will contact you if they would like to set up an interview. Due to the volume of applications we receive, applicants only receive further contact if they are selected for an interview.

I haven’t heard from a supervisor. How can I check my status?

Applications remain “active” in our system for six months. That means, a supervisor can select you for an interview at any point during that timeframe. If it has been less than six months, you can confirm that your application is still active by clicking on the “Jobs” link on this page, then selecting “Existing Applicants - Check Your Status.”  After confirming your information, the site will provide you with a message about your status.

I’d like to apply for another position, but the site won’t allow me to take the assessment again.

The site does not allow applicants to “re-take” the same assessment within six months. If you would like to be considered for a similar position within this timeframe, please e-mail with your name and the name of the position.

I have another question not addressed in this FAQ.
